In response to the challenge of a new technology, "Team Yoishoto! Mitsuba" continues to participate in various "Eco Run" competitions.
In 1986, members of our Machinery Division invited colleagues to join them as the participated in the 6th Honda Econo Power. As the members gathered, the results of their efforts led to the creation of the "Team Yoishoto! Mitsuba" and their machines. While the members of the team were unable to complete the first competition, they have achieved prize-winning performances since the 7th competition and are now known as a major power in the field.
The team has been participating in mileage marathons in overseas worldwide rallies since 1988. Their ranking continued to rise with each race, cumulating in a heroic 3rd place finish in the 21st competition in 2000.
Moreover, after first participating in an EV Eco Run Race in 1996, "Team Yoishoto! Mitsuba" garnered its first victory in this field only three years later in 1999. In 2002, after participating in the five events of the Econo Move Grand Prix (2002 WEM-GP), starting with the race in Ogata, Akita prefecture, our team's performances led to its ranking as the grand champions for 2002.
Since that time, "Team Yoishoto! Mitsuba" has also participated in fuel cell car races, and thanks to the reputation of their machines, other teams have started installing the "in-wheel DD (direct drive)" motors developed by Mitsuba on their cars as well.
