Activities during 2008

December 6, a social action program was carried out by the Niisato Plant.

November 23, a company social action activity was carried out by the Tone Plant.

November 15, a company social action activity was carried out by the Onishi Plant.

July 19, an Environmental Social Contribution was carried out by the Onishi Plant.

July 13, a beautification activity was carried out by the Niisato Plant

July 5, a cleaning project was carried out by the Tomioka Plant.

June.1 A beautification project was carried out by our Yokohama Head Office members.

May 2, an Environmental Social Contribution was carried out by the Tone Plant.

April.27 Environmental Social Contribution was carried out by the Onishi Plant members.

March.8 A beautification project was carried out by our Yokohama Head Office members.


December 6, a social action program was carried out by the Niisato Plant.
The program implemented was called “the 3rd Stage Niisato Satoyama Maintenance Forest Conservation Volunteers”. This refreshing social action program drew 36 employees who helped to clean up the nearby forest.




November 23, a company social action activity was carried out by the Tone Plant.
As a part of the company’s overall Social Action Program, in accordance with the sponsorship of the Numata City Office, Woodlands Enhancement volunteer were carried out. Nine employees from Mitsuba’s Tone Plant participated in this activity, which consisted of cutting the grass and general maintenance in the vicinity of the Otogi No Mori Nature Trail at the Numata Municipal Kamihochi-machi Salad Park.




November 15, a company social action activity was carried out by the Onishi Plant.
On that day, volunteers carried out their second series of general maintenance activities at the Sakurayama Park Woodlands. There were 56 employees (including 24 trainees) who split into groups covering three different courses in the park. The work consisted of cutting an overgrowth of wild grasses and removing dead grass. It was hard work, but in spite of the fact that most of the employees were using sharp sickles, the work was completed and there were no injuries.




July 19, an Environmental Social Contribution was carried out by the Onishi Plant.
Forest maintenance activities were carried out on the grounds of the Sakurayama Park in Fujioka, Gunma, on July 19. Forty-seven employees participated in this activity that was blessed with excellent summer weather thanks to the end of the rainy season, and no injuries.




July 13, a beautification activity was held by the Niisato Plant.
On July 13, 109 employees gathered under the clear blue summer sky in order to clean up and refresh the area surrounding the grounds of the Niisato Plant. Thanks to the diligent efforts of all the participants, we were able to gather and dispose of a large amount of trash.




July 5, a cleaning project was held by the Tomioka Plant.
In response to the World Heritage Site candidacy of the Tomioka Silk Reeling Factory, a cleaning project was carried out by employees who gathered at the Tomioka Plant on July 5. While it proved to be quite a battle against the heat and mosquitoes, these employees weeded the garden on the west side of Bruner Hall.




June.1 A beautification project was carried out by our Yokohama Head Office members.
On June 1, a group of 13 employees participated in the 3rd Yokohama Head Office Volunteer Project. They collected garbage and planted flower in the center dividing strip along National Rte 1 as well as replanting flowers on the grounds of the office. They collected 47 kg of garbage.




May 2, an Environmental Social Contribution was carried out by the Tone Plant.
As a part of a social action program, employees gathered on May 2 to collect empty cans and trash along the along the road in the Oai district.




April.27 Environmental Social Contribution was carried out by the Onishi Plant members.
On April 27, environmental volunteers from the Onishi Plant collected used soft drink cans and other garbage in an effort to clean up the neighborhood. A total of 84 employees, including 40 trainees participated in this project that was held along a course in the General Sports Park and in the Sports Park.




March.8 A beautification project was carried out by our Yokohama Head Office members.
On March 8, a group of 20 members including the Yokohama General Affairs Section and company officials collected garbage and planted flowers along National Rte 1. The garbage collection group cleaned up the sidewalks and the flower planting group planted flowers in the center-dividing strip of the highway for approximately 2 hours. The excellent weather helped to support the collection of 54kg of garbage.
