Activities during 2007
Dec.15 Forest volunteer project
On December 15, as our First Forest Maintenance Volunteer project, employees from the Niisato Plant helped was involved in making improvements in the Citizens’ Forest located on the western perimeters of the Kiryu Garbage Handling Center. Along with employees from our Niisato Plant, 40 volunteers from among prefectural employees and local residents helped to cut bamboo grass and other weeds in this 16,000 m2 wooded area.
Nov.17 Forest volunteer activities are carried out
On November 17, 32 volunteers from The Mitsuba Headquarters, as well as our R & D Center, the Niisato and Akagi Plants participated in the 3rd Kiryu Water Source Forest Maintenance Volunteer activity held in the forests on the mountains of Shimotazawa, Kurohone-cho in Kiryu. Brush cutters were used to help cut bottom weeds and clean up the forest floor.
Oct.13 The presentation of a Greening Promotion award
On October 13, the 32nd Kiryu Municipal Greening Promotion Convention was held at the Central Municipal Assembly Hall and awards were presented to those involved in greening activities in the city.
The Green Site Club from our company's Mutual Aid Association received a Distinguished Service award as a Greening Group. The reason for this year’s recognition stems from the clubs regular activities which include planting flowers on the grounds of the Mitsuba R & D Center and an overall evaluation of the appreciation of the local community for the efforts of this club’s members.
May.26 The reception of a Certificate of Appreciation for Social Contribution Activities
On May 26, at the 5th Regular General Meeting of the NPO Niisato Insect Research Committee held at the Insect Kingdom Niisato Nature Experience Village, our Niisato Plant received a Certificate of Appreciation. The certificate was awarded for the Social Contribution activities of a group of over 100 Niisato Plant employees and their families for their efforts in the "Green Strategy, Cluster-amaryllis Sato-zukuri" project.
May.12 Forest volunteer activity
On May 12, 42 members of our headquarters, and our Niisato and Akagi Plants participated in the 2nd Kiryu Water Source Forest Maintenance Volunteer project cut weeds in this wooded area.
